Delicacies so good they shouldn't be street legal...
It has come to our attention that a certain Faraday Street establishment, Barulho, is producing what might just be the best tapas offering in town. Ever since it opened in May, we’ve known the brainchild of Sarah Ginella and Nico Mendez to be nailing their version of a Euro-Latino neighbourhood bar — so our realisation should come as no surprise.
Available for lunch, dinner and the in-between times (they’re open from 11am till late) the authentic, Spanish and South-American inspired nibbles are on constant rotation. On any given day, you might be able to choose from melt-in-your-mouth empañadas with smoked mushroom and beef, sticky barbecue pork skewers with crackling and pickles or leek and taleggio croquettes — delicacies so good they shouldn’t be street legal.
While locals may well be already aware of this worthwhile afternoon practice, those in search of some quality fodder come cocktail hour will find it at Barulho.
