Walt’s Real Fruit Icecream is whipping up icy treats on scenic Mount Eden

Armed with a bright idea driven by his desire to deviate from the traditional summer job, university student Walter Todd opened Walt’s Real Fruit Icecream at the end of last year. Taking over the Maungawhau Tea Kiosk (halfway up Mount Eden) the pop-up is proving the perfect antidote to the humid, Auckland summer, enticing Aucklanders from all over to make the uphill journey for a scenic treat.

Made from whipping together frozen berries or matcha powder with vanilla ice cream or dairy-free coconut ice cream, Walt’s velvety swirls will be keeping us satiated through the hottest months, until April. Here for a good time and not a long time, make the most of these icy delights before the cold weather rolls back into town.
