Sidart commits to all things locally-sourced with an innovative new menu

The impressive new dishes will feature exclusive New Zealand ingredients

When the New Nordic Movement became big a few years ago, chefs around the world sat up and took notice. NOMA head chefs Rene Redzepi and Claus Meyer wrote a book that was, ‘a manifesto dedicated to improving food culture in Nordic countries by using locally sourced ingredients’.

It has long since become a global movement with many of New Zealand’s leading chefs taking cues from the revered culinarians. Sid Sahrawat, in particular, is making a marked commitment to the cause. The maestro will be launching his new menu at Sidart today (Tuesday, 23rd January) whereby all ingredients will be New Zealand-sourced — we’re talking olive oil, salt, wasabi, chocolate et al. The new creations will showcase the best of local produce, taking guests on a gastronomic voyage throughout the country.

Having forever been passionate about supporting local producers, Sid’s new offering incorporates a personal touch with the Sidart team sharing stories of the provenance and producers behind each ingredient. Diners will still have two options: a five-course journey for $95 and a ‘full’ Journey through New Zealand for $160 per person.
