A unique winter garden experience pops up at Mission Bay Pavilion

Granted, the colder weather is only just settling in, but already the seasonally-sensitive team at Mission Bay Pavilion is working to keep the winter blues at bay. Having teamed up with local candle brand Ecoya, the beachfront post is bringing you a whimsical outdoor ‘Winter Garden’ experience, kicking off today and taking place for the next month.

Festooning their outdoor area with luscious winter dressings and multi-sensory installations, the idea is to come along and enjoy mulled wine/cider and sharing platters, designed by Head Chef Cobus Klopper, and perhaps a movie. The brisk air will be punctuated with the iconic smells of Ecoya (of course) and over the five weeks, the brand’s cool-weather inspired candles — French Pear, Cedar Wood & Leather, Spiced Ginger & Musk and several more — will inspire both the food and beverage. Think spiced hot chocolates and picnic boxes to be enjoyed outside.

Furthermore, outdoor film screenings will take place at the ‘Untold Backyard Cinema’. Each Friday will mark the screening of Hunt for The Wilderpeople, Advanced Style, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Bill Cunningham – Fashion Photography and The September Issue respectively. For $29, each attendee will get their own bean bag, a picnic box and a beer or wine.

Putting a contemporary twist on the classic winter wonderland experience, this pre-winter escape is at your service to demonstrate that the ‘snowy season’ really isn’t that bad.

Experience Mission Bay Pavilion x Ecoya’s Winter Garden between 16th May – 24th June.
