Following weeks of eating as though our stomachs were nothing but bottomless pits, we had every intention of opting for the healthier route once January set in. That was, at least, until we caught wind of this mouth-watering pop-up. Yum Cha enthusiasts Culprit will be teaming up with Wellington-based Goldburger to bring Auckland a burger experience so divine that new year’s resolutions across the city will be broken quicker than you can say “I’ll have fries with that, please.”
For just two days only, all day on the 19th and 20th of January, this short-living burger haven will be serving up Goldburger’s traditional menu peppered with a few Culprit collab dishes for good measure. For those that haven’t yet had the pleasure of tasting Goldburger’s creations, let me divulge. The Capital’s regular pop-up offers a short but sweet list of classic burgers. No frills, just a deliciously traditional layering of beef patty, cheese, lettuce, pickles and a smothering of sauce — served up with a batch of crinkle cut chips and a crisp Garage Project beer, if you’re that way inclined.
While half the restaurant at Culprit will be reserved for walk-ins, we suggest booking online to ensure you’ve got a spot saved for this fleeting experience — this is one you’ll really want to sink your teeth into.
