One of the world’s most celebrated designers, Patricia Urquiola has worked her magic yet again on Room Mate Giuila, an 85-room boutique hotel in Milan. Inspired by the rich cultural aesthetic of the city, the lobby features flooring with the same pink marble floors used in the Duomo Cathedral located just down the road, as well as featuring terracotta bricks as a nod to the humble material commonly used in northern Italy. The rooms have a Bauhaus-come-Classical Italianate aesthetic with a palette inspired by tones found around the new and old parts of the city including terracotta, peach, dusty blue, moss green, neon pink and mustard.
