Meet the cocktail set to usurp the G&T this autumn

Embodying the pop and colour of the Italian way of life, we can’t stop thinking about the Peroni Spritz that was served at this year’s Cinema Peroni. The perfect effervescent accompaniment to the much-anticipated screening of The Great Beauty, the delectable drink also seamlessly embodied the film’s portrait of modern day Rome and the lavish life led by the protagonist, Jep Gambardella.

A classy concoction we have eagerly adopted at home, you can make your own Peroni Spritz too by simply adding 30ml Prosecco, 30ml Aperol, 50ml ruby red grapefruit juice and 110ml Peroni Nastro Azzuro to a tall glass then topping with ice. A crisp, refreshing cocktail that has our après-work gin and tonic on edge, the new-age spritz is one we’ll gladly whip up whenever we’re in need of an Italian escape.
