Home renovation specialists Three Birds were selected to project-manage the refurbishment of this bungalow in the Sydney suburb of Baulkham Hills. The firm’s largest task to date was one that saw it marry the most charming aspects of the existing house’s characters with modern day bells and whistles. This kitchen is part of a new extension that also houses the living and dining spaces.

Fit for entertaining, the soft pistachio palette was a clever choice for the purpose of marrying old with new, while an important design specification was for the central island to rest within the space. Beautiful, antique-look gold handles perfectly complement the colour palette, while the white oven adds a subtle accent. The seamless use of Fisher & Paykel’s integrated rangehood, single DishDrawer™ Dishwasher, underbench multi-temperature CoolDrawer™ and 600mm-wide integrated fridge/freezer completes the modern appeal of this kitchen.
