A few years ago, when London-based designer Ed Walsh was getting set to marry his now-wife Alice, he came up against a rather frustrating hurdle — finding the right cufflinks. Fruitlessly searching for a pair that wasn’t too jazzy, too vintage or too dull, the young couple came to realise that menswear was sorely lacking in the cuff adornment department. Deciding to do something about it, they launched Alice Made This, a brand dedicated to designing ‘clean and refined objects of desire’.
Inspired by geometry and architecture, the pieces are handsomely simple (not to be confused with plain) in particular, the elegant Kitson design. Made up of three interlocking brass or silver tubes, the contemporary links are uncomplicated yet clever in their construction. Extending the same aesthetic courtesy to its entire accessories range which encompasses lapel pins, jewellery and more, Alice Made This is available in New Zealand exclusively at Crane Brothers.
