Deadly Ponies’ new collection is inspired by London’s iconic Pearlies

Having just wowed us with its sleek new leather jacket collection, Deadly Ponies is showing no signs of slowing down, with the most recent launch of handbags and keychains that are as good for society as they look. Introducing; Pearlies, a new collection blurring the lines between utilitarian practicality and elegant adornment.

Drawing from the world of East London’s ‘Pearly Kingdom’, an organised charity known for its pearl button-peppered outfits and do-good ethos, Deadly Ponies has created an eclectic edit. Employing its iconic New Zealand deer Nappa and supple lambswool in khaki and classic black, the time-honoured fabrics make for an alluring parallel to the hand-stitched mother-of-pearl buttons artfully arranged on the pieces in both a diamond pattern and horse-head insignia.

Captivated by the charity’s initiatives to help the underprivileged, Deadly Ponies Creative Director Liam Bowden not only decided to draw inspiration from the look and feel of the ‘Pearlies’, but also from their attitudes. The Lucky Charm keychain was created with the intention of giving back, with all proceeds being donated to Lifewise, a local social development agency dedicated to housing the homeless. A seamless way to look good and do a little good, we’re looking forward to getting our hands on the captivating mother-of-pearl collection.

The Pearlies collection launches in store and online on Friday 5th May.
