Sammy Saxton-Beer is many things. She’s a busy professional with a work schedule that’s only ever matched by that of her social life, and she is renowned for her effortless know-how when it comes to fashion. Often seen around Auckland sporting the latest Balenciaga Knife mules or tailored Gucci trousers, Sammy has forged a reputation for herself as one of this city’s foremost authorities on designer wares.
So when Denizen teamed up with OPSM to find out how some of Auckland’s short and long-sighted individuals were adding frames to their daily wardrobe, this undisputed ‘it’ girl was an obvious choice. For Sammy, eyewear is more than just a practical item it is, as she explains “one hundred per cent a fashion accessory.” Talking us through her three favourite pairs at the moment she outlined how her preference for a more pared-back look was causing her to pick up the frameless Ray-Ban aviators. She also showed us how she would typically style her more statement Tiffany & Co. frames, a pair she appreciated for how “beautifully crafted” they were, and her unique pair of Miu Miu cat-eyes that brought a little “Elton John finesse to the boardroom.”
Showing us how glasses should be appreciated for much more than just their useful nature, Sammy inspired us to head to OPSM and switch up our own specs — perhaps she’ll inspire you too.
