In our recent shoot for Gucci, photographer Jake Terrey takes us through the looking glass

It was in the spirit of Alessandro Michele’s richly detailed and eccentric aesthetic for Gucci SS18 that photographer, Jake Terrey, and stylist, Karla Clarke paid homage to the famed Italian fashion house. Just as Michele found inspiration for the collection in the history of Rome, Terrey and Clarke conjured ideas of the Renaissance. Exclusively using pieces from Gucci SS18, Clarke, rather than emulating Michele’s idiosyncratic styling, used the clothes simply and elegantly — without stripping them of their unique minutiae — while Terrey, through his lens, built a contemplative world, causing us to pause for reflection.
