Anyone who has experienced the invaluable support provided by a hospice will know that hospices ought to have more help. With much of their revenue driven from secondhand charity shops, an idea was born by Karen Walker to highlight some of the clothing found within, shedding her designer spotlight on certain knitted pieces via a pop-up at her Newmarket store, Playpark.
Taking place from now until the end of the week, the collaboration between Karen Walker and Dove Hospice will see various salvaged knits dry-cleaned and ready for winter, selling for the reasonable price of $75. This entire amount will go back to Dove Hospice to help continue providing free care for people with life-threatening and terminal illnesses (without any government funding, might we add).
So if you’re in need of a few warming wardrobe pieces and a dose of feel-good energy, we suggest you head along to the Newmarket store and have a browse.
*We are pleased to announce that Karen Walker’s first drop of vintage knits has sold out. There will be 10 more sweaters landing in store late Thursday afternoon. Pop-up ends Saturday 16th June.
