Ladies and gentlemen, the source of the much adored blue boxes have arrived.
Assuming its rightful place on the ground floor of the heritage-rich Australis Nathan Building in our city’s premier luxury shopping destination of Britomart, Tiffany & Co. has arrived. Opening the doors to its inaugural boutique on our fair shores on the 27th of October, we’ve welcomed the ultimate symbol of style and sophistication like a long lost friend.
Upon setting foot in the stunning 430sqm store, the grand entrance’s gorgeous hand-leafed chandelier — inspired by the Tiffany Magnolia motif — by New York-based artist Michelle Oka Doner is merely a sign of sparkling things to come. The Fine Jewellery Salon, with its ivory stone floors, walnut panelling and neutral velvet walls set a truly sophisticated scene. The Bridal Salon — home to the legendary Tiffany Setting engagement ring — sings of luxury and history with its hand-painted, gilded Tiffany Magnolia glass-panelled walls. As its name suggests, the Fashion Salon offers a decidedly contemporary, gallery-like feel with its glossy lacquered facade and an all-necessary nod to the glamorous Art Deco-inspired era of the 1930s, courtesy of a multi-faceted mirror feature wall. And finally, inspired by the lust-worthy abodes of New York City’s Upper East Side, the Private Sales Salon is, as expected, dressed to impress its discerning clientele.
In addition to Tiffany’s celebrated diamond engagement ring selection, a striking collection of fine and sterling silver jewellery is housed within these hallowed walls, as are the acclaimed wearable embellishments by Elsa Peretti, Paloma Picasso and Jean Schlumberger. And just in case you were wondering, Tiffany’s debut in Auckland comes complete with its signature collections such as the beloved Tiffany T and Return To Tiffany.
For your very own ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ moment, you now know where to go.
