Given the breadth of talent Allpress Studio has served us over the years, it’s hard to comprehend the Drake Street space is only five years old. Yet here we are, on the cusp of the half-decade birthday, hotly anticipating the multi-faceted celebrations that will mark this notable milestone.

The legendary coffee brand originally opened the studio next to its Freemans Bay roastery in 2013 as a place where creatives could share their work directly with their audience. From 1st August to 14th September, the gallery will play host to an exhibition titled ‘100 Artists’, to celebrate and acknowledge the artists and artisans who have shared their work in the space since its inception. There will also be a range of community events, talks, and a limited-edition Allpress coffee ‘100 Artists Blend’ to enjoy.

Featuring work from the likes of Cruz Jimenez, Monmouth Glass Studio, Lisa Reihana and Jake Feast — all of which will be priced between $250 and $2500 — not only are there sure to be frissons about the work on display, but local business aficionados will likely want to get along to ‘The Art of Building A Successful Brand’, a Q&A style panel event featuring Michael Allpress, Steve Dunstan (founder, Huffer), Katie Lockhart (founder of Everyday Needs) and Ava Nakagawa (owner/operator of Little Poms café, Christchurch).
