The cathartic new hobby you need to try this winter

Whether you need some new dishes or just want to recreate that scene in Ghost (no one’s judging) the North Shore’s Ceramic College is offering a plethora of classes for adults who want to learn pottery hands-on. Initiated by experienced ceramicist Teresa Watson, who wanted to share her love for the craft, the courses run regularly throughout the year and are fully equipped, meaning all you need bring is a keen interest and a creative eye.

With classes held during the day, evenings and weekends, you can select the one that suits your schedule before purchasing some ‘firing credits’, following Watson’s tips, and away you go. Using mainly white, earthenware clay and bright underglazes, you’ll be able to create your own brand of crockery to your heart’s content.
