Auckland’s first e-bike rechargery has opened in Viaduct Harbour

Big Street Bikers are on a mission to remedy Auckland’s transport problem by encouraging us to get out of our cars and onto an e-bike. Facilitating the environmentally friendly, futuristic mode of transport by opening a rechargery (Auckland’s first) on Viaduct Harbour Ave, their eye-catching shed features a solar-panelled roof (by Mercury) and provides a picturesque place for e-bikers to stop, recharge and chat with like-minded individuals over coffee.

For those who have never experienced an electric bike, head down to take one for a free test ride or hire one out for a day. It could change your life. And if you want to make the transition to owning one of these bad boys the Big Street Bikers have an offer making it exponentially easier. Operating as a kind of subscription, all it requires is a $250 deposit and you can roll away on your very own bike. And while you cruise around Auckland, smugly passing those stuck in its notorious traffic, you’ll pay only $30 a week until the remainder is paid off.
