Inspired by posterity, Bill Murray proves it's never too late for second chances.
The latest comedic instalment from the famed Weinstein Company and director Theodore Melfi, entitled St Vincent de Van Nuys, portrays the heartwarming yet unconventional friendship between a 12 year-old boy in the wake of his parents’ divorce and the disgruntled war veteran who lives next door.
The formidableBill Murray plays the lead role of St Vincent, whose philandering lifestyle is hanging on by a mere miserable thread, before being reinstated with a sense of purpose and posterity after taking on a child-minder turned father-figure role for Oliver (played beautifully by newcomer Jaeden Lieberher). While stumbling through a series of life lessons, the pair soon realise that you’re never too old for second chances or too young to learn their value.
Boasting a supporting cast that certainly isn’t short on star power, this unconventional rendering of your typical coming-of-age film features Naomi Watts (who plays a hustling Russian pole dancer and ‘lady of the night’), Melissa McCarthy and Chris O’Dowd. This eagerly anticipated screenplay is sure to have you in stitches.
Saint Vincent de Van Nuys will be in cinemas from October 24.
