If you haven’t already received the memo, allow us to enlighten you: the country’s biggest on-water sporting event, the Volvo Ocean Race, has arrived to Auckland on its antipodean leg, and with it, a whole lot of festivities at our city’s fair waterfront precinct.
Amidst it all is The House of Peroni, standing head and shoulders above the rest on the Viaduct Harbour’s Te Wero island. The commanding, two-level structure by Angus Muir Design serves as the perfect place to soak up all the action. Its chic maritime aesthetic, punctuated by a giant ‘Peroni’ signs in lights, gives way to friendly Italian hospitality to match.
A full menu including Italian style aperitivo, mains and platters by SKYCITY is available from the bar and deck area downstairs while the upstairs viewing platform is one of the better temporary vantage points we’ve seen (it can be booked for private functions).
Having kicked off with a one-night Cinema Peroni screening (photos above), the space is now open for the public to enjoy.
The House of Peroni is open daily till 18th March from 12pm – 10pm.
