Video: The enchanting LUX Light Festival is set to illuminate Wellington

Back and brighter than ever is the country most established light extravaganza; the LUX Light Festival. Encompassing a show-stopping collection of light illuminations, interactive installations, and musical performances, the 2018 programme is set to brighten the darkening nights and warrant a trip to our fair capital city.

Wellington’s waterfront will awaken in May with a lively jolt; the mesmerising waterscreen and dazzling light displays are enhanced with performances from glowing, underwater dancers. Massey University’s College of Creative Arts will be showcasing a multitude of works from their schools of Design, Fine Art and Creative Media Production — whilst artists from both near and far premiere their work for the first time in New Zealand.

In a bid to overindulge all the senses, the festival will also be offering taste sensations brought by some of the capital’s finest food trucks. Think mouth-watering cuisine from all corners of the globe with the odd light themed treat thrown in for good measure — the glow-in-the-dark gelato is set to excite kids and adults alike.

Taking place from 18th-27th May, there’s plenty of time to catch this illuminating wonder. However, we suggest you make plans to visit sooner rather than later. For the full lowdown on the event click here.
