It’s been a while since we’ve hit a night market and we’re not too sure why. Not only do you get the most delectable offerings from some of the finest food trucks in town, you’re likely to walk away with some groceries for the week, a new table set and maybe even some linen to match — all the while sprawled out on your picnic rug devouring the goods whilst the kids (faces painted) are tearing up the make-shift dance floor and causing a ruckus. Bless.
Which is why we were pretty excited to hear that our Friday night is all mapped out this week with the Te Atatu Night Markets. With around 20 food trucks to choose from, we won’t be going hungry — there will be Judge Bao, Got Pasta, Uni-ko, The Rolling Pin, Puha & Pakeha, Brooklyn Dogs, Ghetto Soul and many more. And it doesn’t stop there; with a range of artisan foods to choose from (we hear the chocolates are to die for), and DJs to make sure we hear more than the kids begging for ice-cream from Lalele, it will be an evening we look forward to every month.
It’s worth noting that the Te Atatu Night Markets also give back to the community by supporting several charities each month and if you donate to the local Foodbank & Cat Rescue you’ll be in to win dinner on the house.
We regret to inform you that this month’s Te Atatu Night Markets, taking place on Friday 10th March from 5-9pm, have been cancelled due to bad weather.
