Casa IV is a gorgeous brick residence with an arresting vaulted canopy located amidst the barren landscape of Elche, Spain. Designed by the Barcelona-based studio, Mesura, the long rectilinear volume serves as an extension of an existing home, the owners of which commissioned the add-on to house a new bedroom, multipurpose room, and a covered outdoor space. The outcome surpassed all expectations with its stunning form that combines both considerate detailing and honesty of materials. The highly graphic nature of brick with its varying rich red tones contrasts beautifully with the cool, smooth and uniform grey of the concrete vaults.
