This ultra-lush Melbourne residence is providing all the design inspiration we need

We’ve seen plush textures before, but never quite so beautifully appointed as in this South Yarra residence by award-winning interior design office, Fiona Lynch.

Pivotal to the project was a sense of approachability, as well as one of calm and reprieve. Sophisticated colours, playful textures, refined materials, custom details and a heady curation of furniture creates a grown-up wonderland.

The formal living area provides open shelves made from painted oak with internal lining and shelves wrapped in aged bronze sheets.

Beautifully crafted joinery flanks the fireplace, elements of which sit firmly on custom marble boxes that match the cladding of the fireplace surround.

The artful curation of furniture includes the Hans Wegner Flag Halyard chair (available locally from Cult), the Cassina Rio table (available from Matisse), the Ligne Roset Pumpkin armchair and ottoman (available from Domo) and the Arflex shaggy Botolo chair (available locally from Studio Italia).
