Need some sunshine? Meet Fiji’s newest luxury resort, the Marriott at Momi Bay

The over-water bungalows are a first for Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.

Come July, a jaunt to Fiji is just about everything the doctor ordered. And with our sights set on the Marriott group’s latest offering in Momi Bay, we can’t help but agree. The five-star resort embodies everything one could want for an ultimate tropical vacay.

With regards to its over-water bungalows, this style of accommodation, abundant in places like Tahiti and the Maldives, is a first for Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu where the uptake has been relatively slow. Located a 45-minute drive from Nadi International Airport, 22 over-water villas comprise a portion of the resort’s 250 rooms. The aesthetic directive is contemporary with a purposeful use of natural materials and Fijian motifs throughout.

Each of the luxurious bathrooms has been kitted out by local suppliers Robertson, where freestanding baths and waterfall showers grace the many of the superior suites. Ideal for couples, families will also find ample amenities at this newly minted Marriott with four different dining options, three large swimming pools and access to a private white-sand beach. Sound like heaven? We think so.
