Whether it’s a tête-à-tête with a client or sitting down to throw a few ideas around with colleagues, peruse our list of some of the best spots in town, ones that are neither too rowdy nor too intimate, and most of which can host anywhere between 6-12 people if necessary.

4. Rosie

5. Ampersand
Orakei Bay Village’s most popular new resident boasts a ‘coffee alley’, a view of the water, plenty of space and some delicious all-day fare. (228 Orakei Rd, Orakei)

6. Odettes Eatery
A sophisticated atmosphere that will lend your company a dose of inner-city tranquillity.

8. Welcome
This cafeteria-like Newton address is light, airy and spacious with excellent food and service at the ready. (181 Grafton Road, Newton) 

9. Scout
In the case that you might need a good meeting place in Torbay (the ‘north’ part of the North Shore), this forward-thinking newcomer is just the spot. (967 Beach Road, Torbay)

10. Pollen

11. Caffetteria Allpress 
A destination favoured by many for its central location, Allpress’ HQ has a large table that’s perfect for congregating around. (8 Drake St, Freemans Bay)

12. Major Sprout
With an excellent location in the CBD, there’s an expansive table that’s perfect for meetings outside of the office. (21 Graham Street, CBD)  

13. Orphans Kitchen
Now open every day for breakfast (Amen!), settle into the organic setting, order a few buffalo milk coffees and see where your ideas take you. (118 Ponsonby Road, Ponsonby)

14. The Botanist
This florist cum cafe is a light-filled space housing a central table big enough to seat 16 people. (City Works Depot, 90 Wellesley St West, CBD)

15. Williams
With its long, west-facing, glass-fronted façade, minimalist interior and great coffee, this is the perfect place for working out a few of the nuts and bolts at play. (G03/85 Daldy Street, Wynyard Quarter)

16. Simon & Lee
