From Sydney to Auckland, Cali Press brings its wholesome fare to our shores

Superfoods done super well.

LA-inspired and Sydney-born, cult Aussie health cafe Cali Press has finally landed on our shores. Healthy, but not in that painful, #cleanliving kind of way, the food is organic, raw and nutritious, but also genuinely delicious. No need to block your nose as you down a sludgy shot of juiced roots and bark here, Cali Press delivers the goods in a range of tasty dishes and drinks.

First, there are the organic cold-pressed juices. Ready to grab-and-go straight from the chiller, the rainbow of flavours encompasses everything from fruity juices, to more earthy, veggie-based brews. Using those same elixirs as a base to many of the smoothies and smoothie bowls (the latter come topped with a pleasing smattering of cereals, fruits, seeds and nuts), the expertly muddled concoctions are bold in both colour and flavour.

On the more substantial side, toast is available by the slice and comes loaded with hearty toppings or a choice of spreads (shout out to the indelible almond butter and sticky date mix). And though we’re yet to work our way through the entire menu, we can tell you that the beetroot hummus slathered sourdough with goat feta and dukkah is top-notch. Finally, for the sweet tooth, the not-so-naughty cabinet treats are sure to satisfy, especially when enjoyed alongside an Allpress coffee, which can, of course, be served in bulletproof form.

Conveniently placed just around the corner from Les Mills Victoria Street, everything in the light-filled cafe is served to-go, but there is certainly space for those wanting to eat in. A nutritionally skewed spot with plenty of options, Cali Press proves that eating healthy doesn’t have to be a chore.
