Elisabeth Kwan, the culinary mind behind Muy-Yum (creating vegan, gluten-free and refined-sugar-free treats) is bringing her pop-up series, Cornbusters, to Lovebucket and Urbanaut, where she will be serving up sweet corn in an entirely unique way.
The menu, Kwan tells me, is all about inclusion and having a bit of fun, as balls of tempura corn will be served with various toppings to cater for any and all proclivities. We’re talking vegan options aplenty. If that isn’t a requirement for you, options like the ‘Stripping Balls’ where the corn is topped with strips of free-range, maple pork belly, pea purée, ricotta, balsamic glaze and a cured egg or the ‘Dash The Curry,’ with a topping of currywurst, fermented potato chips and American mustard are sure to prove tempting prospects. If nothing on the four-dish menu doesn’t quite float your boat, you can also mix and match the toppings to your taste.
Kwan explains how the pop-up has become something of a collaboration between her menu and the drinks at Lovebucket and Urbanaut — where specially chosen wine, a sour beer and a Cornbusters cocktail will be on offer as ah-maize-ing accompaniments to the food.
Cornbusters will pop-up at Lovebucket from the 7th until the 9th of February (6pm until 9pm) and will take up residence at Urbanaut on the 10th of February, where the signature balls will be on offer from 12pm until sold out.
