Beer lovers rejoice! Garage Project has opened a cellar door in Kingsland

Wellington-based experimental brewery Garage Project has opened its first Auckland outpost and is now delivering its award-winning brews from a laid-back cellar door in Kingsland. Renowned for pushing boundaries and its prolific work rate (they created 60 brews in 2017 alone) it feels fortuitous that Garage Project expands into Auckland now, after winning Champion Brewer at the 2017 Brewers Guild of New Zealand Awards last year.

Reimagining the conventional bottle shop, the new space is selling merchandise and beers by the bottle, pack or with a ‘crowler’ — a 1L can the staff will fill and seal on the spot. The long wooden beer counter with 12 taps of ever-changing brews stands as a stoic centre piece, while wooden accents and darker colours create a warm, inviting atmosphere. And like any cellar door for wine, tasting flights for Garage Project’s varied selection are available for those looking to find a preferred variety or step outside their comfort zone.

So whether you’re a bona fide beer aficionado, or simply wanting to learn more about the appeal of a crafty brew, Garage Project has made it easier than ever for Aucklanders to access the full beer experience.
