It has come to our attention that new a Japanese pitstop by the name of Mad Samurai has popped up in the downtown precinct of Snickel Lane. Located next to Altezano Brothers, they do breakfast, lunch and dinner, but if we’re being honest, it’s the after work vibe that we’re into. Come cocktail o’clock, we’re looking at the Asahi taps — of which there is the Super Dry and Asahi Black variety. Delectable tidbits await in the form of wagyu meatballs with teriyaki sauce and croquettes doused in okonomi. Tender sliced steak (yakiniku), yummy gyoza, tataki and sashimi are easily nibbled up with a crisp, freshly-poured lager in tow. The restaurant opens up onto the laneway allowing for both indoor outdoor seating, so we suggest you settle in for some Japanese-inspired whistle wetting.
