Though you couldn’t accuse the Greenwoods Corner Shops of being short of culinary options with the semi-recent addition of Little Jimmy, Corner Burger and the longstanding One Tree Grill, the one thing that is has been wanting for is a decent brunch spot. So when we heard that new cafe, Forest, was opening and set to be the type of place we could labour over the sports section and a plate of eggs benedict simultaneously, we got there, quick.

It offers all the usual Saturday and Sunday fixings. We’re talking French toast, smashed avo with poached eggs, waffles and a brilliant green smoothie bowl that actually manages to refuel the tank thanks to a secret serving of granola lurking at the bottom of the bowl. Paired with Supreme coffee and an edited selection of cabinet food (of which we’ve heard the scones are a must-try), the light-filled haunt is a worthy way to start your weekend.
