Early March marks the start of our highly-anticipated Bluff oyster season, reminding us that really, there’s nothing like a freshly-shucked Bluffie to soften the blow of autumn’s arrival. Juicy, plump and full of flavour, these delicious morsels are widely-regarded as some of the best oysters in the world and are only made better when enjoyed with a crisp flute of Champagne.
Refusing to let lockdown deprive Aucklanders of the season’s first Bluffies, Ostro has decided to bring the oysters to us, offering by-the-dozen Bluff oysters, freshly-shucked and served with shallot vinaigrette and lemon, delivered straight to our doors.
And if that wasn’t enough, Ostro is also providing the option of a chilled bottle of Champagne to accompany — making the arrival of Bluff oysters a real celebration, even if most of us are stuck at home.
With limited availability, we suggest pre-ordering your dozen (or two) here, before they all sell out, with deliveries set to run on Thursday and Friday this week between 12pm and 5pm. Given that delivery is only available to those in the CBD, Ponsonby, Grey Lynn, St Mary’s Bay, Freemans Bay, Remuera, Herne Bay, Parnell, and Westmere, contactless pick-up from Seafarers is also an option.
