PSA: Häagen-Dazs has arrived and you’re going to want to stock up

One would usually associate ice cream with summer. Sun shining, togs on, hanging out at the beach. But I don’t believe it should be cornered into one season, it deserves so much more than just a couple of months of dedication. It’s worthy of hero status and should wholeheartedly become a staple part of the diet. Now that legendary brand Häagen-Dazs has landed on our shores, it’s destined to do just that.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for the arrival of this world-famous ice cream.

The company was founded by Reuben Mattus in New York, who began with just three flavours; chocolate, vanilla and coffee. He had a firm belief that if you were going to indulge in ice cream, it should be a real and fulfilling experience. That meant sourcing only the highest quality ingredients to deliver an inimitable luxury product. Only four pure ingredients make up the base for each; fresh cream, milk, sugar and egg yolks – there are no unnecessary extras in these creamy concoctions. Proof of their unswerving dedication is it took Reuben Mattus six years to find the perfect strawberry for their Strawberries and Cream flavour.

With 90 countries already indulging in this creamy deliciousness, now it’s our turn to dig in. Available in the chillers of all good supermarkets now, Haagen Dazs has started their NZ journey with five debut flavours – Strawberries and Cream, Belgian Chocolate, Macadamia Nut Brittle, Salted Caramel and Vanilla. There will also be two mini cup collections in Classic and Caramel Attraction. Something to hit the sweet spot of every palate. Strike while the spoon is cold and stock up. Get ready to experience ice cream richness and depth of flavour like you’ve not experienced before.
