The queen of baking has expanded her sweet empire.
When it comes to perfectly pretty baked treats, we’ve been spoilt for choice with the new wave of bakers that have come to light in recent times. Yet there’s one in particular who has been at the forefront of the pack — Jordan Rondel of The Caker. Founded five years ago and having opened her first shop K Road back in 2014, the demand for her sweet creations has galvanised her to spread her wings even further in the form of Salon de Cake.
Two doors down from the original site and three times the size, The Caker’s new premises is a girly wonderland decked out with baby pink everything, paired with accents of gold, sheepskin, neon lights and the signature Girls Girls Girls LED lightbox as a nod to the red light district that is K Road. The new and improved store will act as a space for cake pickups, wedding consultations, as well as retail for their famed cookbooks and seriously popular cake mixes. For those who are desperate for a saccharine fix, there will be a selection of takeaway mini cakes on offer as well as emergency cakes out the back to save desperate individuals from the perils of forgetting an important occasion. The pretty space will also play host to baking workshops where tickets will be available via their website, and, as an adorable spot to hire out, ready and willing to host events such as tea parties, baby showers, engagement celebrations.
With a proclivity for all things sweet, we’re excited that the queen of cakes has expanded her baking empire, heeding our call for a delighfully sweet pick-me-up of epic proportions.
