Bringing the increasingly popular breakfast movement to our shores.
If you’re a Takapuna resident or regular visitor to Hurstmere Green, you may or may not have stumbled across a reckoning scene last Saturday — members of the public giving it their all on an outdoor Airdyne (exercise bike) and rowing machine if not vigorously taking to a skipping rope in the name of a free breakfast. For this was the grand opening of new fitspo eatery The Smoothie Bowl.
Located just past Jam Organic Cafe in a modern standalone structure next to Bondie Designer Cupcakes, The Smoothie Bowl is the brainchild of CrossFit fanatic and instructor Brooke Manukau and business partner Sly Natty (coincidently, the owners of the two side-by-side businesses are sisters). Having picked up on the trend when recently visiting Brisbane, she knew the opportunity was ripe to bring the increasingly popular breakfast movement to our shores.
Offering an exclusive line-up of deliciously fresh smoothie bowls and smoothies, to select from either the açai, mango passion, nutty caramel or chocalicious smoothie bowl is a tall order. Most are gluten-free and employ a topping Pure Delish Granola and fresh fruit for flavour and crunch.
So if you’re in search of some motivation to turn over a healthy new leaf, we can guarantee you will find it here, where there are CrossFit moves to fit every order (we kid you not).
