An afternoon whiling away the hours at a winery is always a Sunday well spent. The only challenge is getting to said winery. Either a ferry ride or lengthy drive away, it can be a quite a haul getting there. But when the wineries come to you? Now that’s a good day.

Corralling 32 of the country’s finest small-production wineries into the heart of the city, the NZ Boutique Wine Festival is returning for its sixth year running on Sunday 10th June. Snaking its way down Imperial Lane and into the likes of The Jefferson and Everybody’s, the unique cellar door experience will showcase hundreds of delicious, locally-produced wines, inviting oenophiles to sniff, sip and spit (if so inclined) to their heart’s content.

Highlighting the viticultural prowess of New Zealand’s top wine regions, there will be tasting seminars, masterclasses and live music, as well as the opportunity to sample some exceptional food and wine pairings at the VIP lunch and dinner.
