The results are in. The inaugural Denizen Everyday Heroes saw thousands of votes cast in support of local businesses, with the aim of shining a light on the people and places whose services we rely upon. So without further ado, celebrate the best blow dry specialists Auckland city has to offer, as voted by you.
1. MOST VOTED: Tāne Tomoana, Dry & Tea
You know your hair is in good hands when Jacinda Ardern’s go-to stylist is on the job, which is exactly why it’s no surprise industry heavyweight Tāne Tomoana snagged the most votes in the best blow dry specialist category. With a clientele which includes our Prime Minister alongside Hollie Smith and Anika Moa, Dry & Tea creative director Tomoana is the best in the biz when it comes to executing the perfect hair day.
2. HONOURABLE MENTION: Danny Pato, D&M
You’d be hard-pressed to find a local hairdresser with more accolades than D&M’s Danny Pato. With four back-to-back wins as New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year and most recently scooping International Hairstylist of the Year for 2021 (the first Kiwi to do so), Pato is a true icon.
3. HONOURABLE MENTION: Zoe Clark, INCO
With more than 17 years in the industry under her belt, Zoe Clark has oodles of experience both in New Zealand and abroad. While Clark counts L’Oréal Professionnel hair artist and educator on her CV, day-to-day you’ll find her working her magic at INCO Studio, the pretty-in-pink hair and nail salon she owns in Ponsonby.
4. Becca Brown, Dakota
5. Dani Bult, Frenchie & Co
6. Jannine Jones, Ryder Salon
7. Leigh Keepa, Commune
8. Adelle Rodda, Colleen
9. Ashifa Begum, M11 Studio
10. Adrian Deng, ANCO
Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for Denizen Everyday Heroes. We will be rolling out the results in the coming weeks online and in our summer issue, on sale now.
