Yeah Bowl 2.0 — the Takapuna poké bar brings its Hawaiian fare to Britomart

Last year, Phil Cui opened Yeah Bowl poké bar in Takapuna. The offering was slick; an interior worthy of spending your lunch hour (indoor greenery, custom lighting, bleacher-style seating), friendly hospitality and, of course, a fresh, easy-to-order bowl of goodness. But for some of us, a trip to the North Shore during our lunch-hour wasn’t viable. Realising this, Cui recently opening a second outpost in the heart of Britomart Station.

Less of a space where you sit down and eat and more of a pit-stop takeaway situation, the delicious fare comprises everything we love about the Takapuna outpost. What’s more, the team has even added a dairy-free coconut ice cream that comes topped with watermelon and freeze-dried raspberries. There’s a little quip on the side of the bar that can be read when it’s closed; ‘You say enjoyable, we say enjoy a bowl’. Fair to say, not only does Cui have a way with words, he’s pretty good at giving the people what they want — damn delicious poké.
